Surgical Advancements:
  • Development of new surgical instrumentation- including lasers, scopes and robotics.
  • Development of new surgical techniques and procedures including Minimally Invasive Surgical Technology- minimizing scarring, reducing the chance of infection, reducing surgeon's fatigue, and speed healing.
  • The study and treatment of injuries and wounds- modern surgical technology has reduced infection, pain, and scarring.
Disease Studies:
  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Osteoporosis
  • Heart Disease
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
It is important to note that all researchers, clinicians, and educators participating in the AGR program must enter into a binding Agreement ensuring strict adherence to its Tissue Use Policy and ensuring AGR's oversight as to how the donated tissues are utilized. All applicants wishing to receive tissue from AGR must first be approved based on many factors including scientific and educational merit of their work.
